X-VC: Zero-shot Streaming Voice Conversion in Codec Space

Zero-shot voice conversion (VC) aims to convert a source utterance into the voice of an unseen target speaker while preserving its linguistic content. Although recent systems have improved conversion quality, building zero-shot VC systems for interactive scenarios remains challenging because high-fidelity speaker transfer and low-latency streaming inference are difficult to achieve simultaneously. In this work, we present X-VC, a zero-shot streaming VC system that performs one-step conversion in the latent space of a pretrained neural codec. X-VC uses a dual-conditioning acoustic converter that jointly models source codec latents and frame-level acoustic conditions derived from target reference speech, while injecting utterance-level target speaker information through adaptive normalization. To reduce the mismatch between training and inference, we train the model with generated paired data and a role-assignment strategy that combines standard, reconstruction, and reversed modes. For streaming inference, we further adopt a chunkwise inference scheme with overlap smoothing that is aligned with the segment-based training paradigm of the codec. Experiments on Seed-TTS-Eval show that X-VC achieves the best streaming WER in both English and Chinese, strong speaker similarity in same-language and cross-lingual settings, and substantially lower offline real-time factor than the compared baselines. These results suggest that codec-space one-step conversion is a practical approach for building high-quality low-latency zero-shot VC systems. Audio samples are available at https://x-vc.github.io. Our code and checkpoints will also be released.

CuteTTS: Efficient and High-Quality Speech Synthesis via Autoregressive Modeling of Continuous Latents

Zero-shot text-to-speech (TTS) now supports interactive assistants, personalized media, and accessibility tools. All TTS systems require faithful linguistic rendering, consistent speaker identity, and low-latency response. Yet compact streaming systems must preserve sufficient acoustic detail in a predictable low-rate latent sequence, while iterative diffusion sampling and classifier-free guidance multiply inference cost at every autoregressive step. To strike a balance between high-fidelity synthesis and low-latency inference, we present CuteTTS, a compact continuous-autoregressive TTS system. It combines semantically aligned causal VAE latents with patch-level autoregression, explicit speaker conditioning, and a bidirectional flow-matching head. We further introduce guidance-step distillation, which absorbs classifier-free guidance and multiple solver steps into a single interval-conditioned student. Evaluations on LibriSpeech and Seed-TTS-Eval demonstrate competitive intelligibility and speaker similarity in zero-shot voice cloning, while distillation lowers first-audio latency by 23.3% and real-time factor by 40.8% relative to the base model with comparable objective and subjective quality. These results provide a practical path toward continuous-autoregressive TTS that reconciles high-fidelity generation with the latency demands of real-time interaction.

dots.tts.edit: Precisely Controlled Speech Editing with a Continuous Autoregressive Model

Speech editing for content creation requires precise control over both what an edit should do and where it should apply. Free-form natural language provides a flexible interface for expressing edit requests, but its ambiguity may leave the intended operation, parameters, or target region underspecified. We study a precise and explicit interface for speech editing: a transcript-grounded structural edit instruction with XML-style tags explicitly specifies typed operations and localizes them to transcript spans or boundaries. This semantic timeline avoids explicit timestamp alignment and provides an externally inspectable contract for compositional edits. We instantiate the interface in dots.tts.edit, an editor adapted from the continuous autoregressive dots.tts foundation model. Four representative speech-creation controls cover lexical content, affective expression, pitch and speaking-rate delivery, and temporal phrasing through text, emotion, prosody, and pause editing. Task-specific data pipelines construct operation- and scope-controlled pairs while retaining source-derived context outside each target region. We further introduce doteBench, a bilingual evaluation suite that measures precise instruction following, local preservation, and audio quality across the four controls and their composition. Experiments show leading overall instruction following and local preservation across its five editing categories, while audio quality remains comparable to existing open-source systems. Across three Seed-TTS-Eval shards, the model shows negligible differences from the base model in zero-shot TTS recognition error rate and speaker similarity. The code and model will be released soon.

Raon-OpenTTS: Open Models and Data for Robust Text-to-Speech

Recent advances in text-to-speech (TTS) models show impressive speech naturalness and quality, yet the role of large-scale open data in driving this progress remains underexplored. In this work, we introduce Raon-OpenTTS, an open TTS model that performs competitively with state-of-the-art closed-data TTS models, and Raon-OpenTTS-Pool, a large-scale open dataset for reproducible TTS training. Raon-OpenTTS-Pool consists of 615K hours of 240M speech segments aggregated from publicly available English speech corpora and web-sourced recordings. With a model-based filtering pipeline applied to Raon-OpenTTS-Pool, we derive Raon-OpenTTS-Core, a curated, high-quality subset of 510K hours and 194M speech segments. Using Raon-OpenTTS-Core, we train Raon-OpenTTS, a series of diffusion transformer (DiT)-based TTS models from 0.3B to 1B parameters. On multiple benchmarks, Raon-OpenTTS-1B shows comparable performance to state-of-the-art models such as Qwen3-TTS and CosyVoice 3, which are trained on several million hours of proprietary speech data. Notably, on Seed-TTS-Eval, Raon-OpenTTS-1B achieves a word error rate (WER) of 1.78% and a speaker similarity (SIM) of 0.749, ranking second on WER and first on SIM among recent open-weight TTS baselines. On CV3-Hard-EN, Raon-OpenTTS-1B achieves a WER of 6.15% and a SIM of 0.775, ranking first on both metrics. Furthermore, to support robust evaluation, we introduce Raon-OpenTTS-Eval, a structured benchmark for assessing TTS robustness across diverse acoustic conditions including clean, noisy, in-the-wild, and expressive speech. On Raon-OpenTTS-Eval, Raon-OpenTTS-1B achieves the best average WER and SIM among all evaluated models, and the second-best human preference, as measured by comparative mean opinion score (CMOS). Our data pool, filtering pipeline, training code, and checkpoints are publicly available at https://github.com/krafton-ai/RAON-OpenTTS.

JoyVoice: Long-Context Conditioning for Anthropomorphic Multi-Speaker Conversational Synthesis

Large speech generation models are evolving from single-speaker, short sentence synthesis to multi-speaker, long conversation geneartion. Current long-form speech generation models are predominately constrained to dyadic, turn-based interactions. To address this, we introduce JoyVoice, a novel anthropomorphic foundation model designed for flexible, boundary-free synthesis of up to eight speakers. Unlike conventional cascaded systems, JoyVoice employs a unified E2E-Transformer-DiT architecture that utilizes autoregressive hidden representations directly for diffusion inputs, enabling holistic end-to-end optimization. We further propose a MM-Tokenizer operating at a low bitrate of 12.5 Hz, which integrates multitask semantic and MMSE losses to effectively model both semantic and acoustic information. Additionally, the model incorporates robust text front-end processing via large-scale data perturbation. Experiments show that JoyVoice achieves state-of-the-art results in multilingual generation (Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean) and zero-shot voice cloning. JoyVoice achieves top-tier results on both the Seed-TTS-Eval Benchmark and multi-speaker long-form conversational voice cloning tasks, demonstrating superior audio quality and generalization. It achieves significant improvements in prosodic continuity for long-form speech, rhythm richness in multi-speaker conversations, paralinguistic naturalness, besides superior intelligibility. FireRedTTS3: Unified Speech Generation and Editing with Semantically Enriched Speech Representations

Recent continuous autoregressive TTS models operate directly on continuous speech representations, preserving rich acoustic details while leveraging the instruction-following capabilities of text LLMs. This paradigm opens new possibilities for voice cloning, instruction-controlled voice design, and speech editing, but remains susceptible to error accumulation during autoregressive generation. Existing solutions often require additional semantic modules, multi-stage tokenizer training pipelines, or complex autoregressive architectures. In this work, we propose FireRedTTS3, a simple yet effective speech generation and editing framework that mitigates error accumulation at the representation level. Specifically, we leverage a frozen Audio Encoder trained on diverse speech understanding tasks as a semantic teacher to regularize the audio feature space. This improves text-speech alignment and stabilizes autoregressive generation while keeping the overall system simple. FireRedTTS3 provides two variants: FireRedTTS3-Base for multilingual and multi-dialect zero-shot voice cloning, and FireRedTTS3-Instruct for unified voice cloning, instruction-controlled voice design, and speech editing. Experiments show that FireRedTTS3-Base achieves the best average speech intelligibility and speaker similarity among compared systems on Seed-TTS-Eval and MiniMax-MLS-Test, while FireRedTTS3-Instruct outperforms competing systems on InstructTTSEval and Ming-Freeform-Audio-Edit. These results demonstrate that semantically enriched continuous speech representations, combined with a simple architecture, enable stable, controllable, and high-fidelity speech generation and editing. dots.tts Technical Report

We present dots.tts, a 2B-parameter continuous autoregressive text-to-speech (TTS) foundation model that models speech in a continuous latent space. Compared with existing continuous autoregressive models, our key innovations are threefold. First, we train an AudioVAE with multiple objectives to build a semantically structured and prediction-friendly continuous speech space. Second, we use full-history conditioning in the flow-matching head to preserve long-range consistency and reduce drift during generation. Third, we apply reward-free self-corrective post-training to the flow-matching head to further improve robustness and acoustic quality. After being trained on a large-scale multilingual corpus, dots.tts achieves the best average performance on Seed-TTS-Eval, with WERs of 0.94%/1.30%/6.60% and SIM scores of 81.0/77.1/79.5 on the zh/en/zh-hard test sets, respectively. Across other benchmarks, dots.tts also consistently demonstrates open-source state-of-the-art performance, exhibiting strong generation stability, voice cloning ability, and emotional expressiveness. For efficient inference, we further apply CFG-aware MeanFlow distillation, enabling low-latency speech generation with first-packet latencies of 85/54 ms in output streaming and dual-streaming modes, respectively. To facilitate reproducible research and practical deployment, we release the training and inference code, together with the pretrained, post-trained, and MeanFlow-distilled checkpoints, under the Apache 2.0 license.

Seed-TTS: A Family of High-Quality Versatile Speech Generation Models

We introduce Seed-TTS, a family of large-scale autoregressive text-to-speech (TTS) models capable of generating speech that is virtually indistinguishable from human speech. Seed-TTS serves as a foundation model for speech generation and excels in speech in-context learning, achieving performance in speaker similarity and naturalness that matches ground truth human speech in both objective and subjective evaluations. With fine-tuning, we achieve even higher subjective scores across these metrics. Seed-TTS offers superior controllability over various speech attributes such as emotion and is capable of generating highly expressive and diverse speech for speakers in the wild. Furthermore, we propose a self-distillation method for speech factorization, as well as a reinforcement learning approach to enhance model robustness, speaker similarity, and controllability. We additionally present a non-autoregressive (NAR) variant of the Seed-TTS model, named Seed-TTS_DiT, which utilizes a fully diffusion-based architecture. Unlike previous NAR-based TTS systems, Seed-TTS_DiT does not depend on pre-estimated phoneme durations and performs speech generation through end-to-end processing. We demonstrate that this variant achieves comparable performance to the language model-based variant and showcase its effectiveness in speech editing. We encourage readers to listen to demos at https://bytedancespeech.github.io/seedtts_tech_report.

EmergentTTS-Eval: Evaluating TTS Models on Complex Prosodic, Expressiveness, and Linguistic Challenges Using Model-as-a-Judge

Text-to-Speech (TTS) benchmarks often fail to capture how well models handle nuanced and semantically complex text. Building on EmergentTTS, we introduce EmergentTTS-Eval, a comprehensive benchmark covering six challenging TTS scenarios: emotions, paralinguistics, foreign words, syntactic complexity, complex pronunciation (e.g. URLs, formulas), and questions. Crucially, our framework automates both test-case generation and evaluation, making the benchmark easily extensible. Starting from a small set of human-written seed prompts, we iteratively extend them using LLMs to target specific structural, phonetic and prosodic challenges, resulting in 1,645 diverse test cases. Moreover, we employ a model-as-a-judge approach, using a Large Audio Language Model (LALM) to assess the speech across multiple dimensions such as expressed emotion, prosodic, intonational, and pronunciation accuracy. We evaluate state-of-the-art open-source and proprietary TTS systems, such as 11Labs, Deepgram, and OpenAI's 4o-mini-TTS, on EmergentTTS-Eval, demonstrating its ability to reveal fine-grained performance differences. Results show that the model-as-a-judge approach offers robust TTS assessment and a high correlation with human preferences. We open source the evaluation https://github.com/boson-ai/EmergentTTS-Eval-public{code} and the https://huggingface.co/datasets/bosonai/EmergentTTS-Eval{dataset}.

Measuring Prosody Diversity in Zero-Shot TTS: A New Metric, Benchmark, and Exploration

Prosody diversity is essential for achieving naturalness and expressiveness in zero-shot text-to-speech (TTS). However, frequently used acoustic metrics capture only partial views of prosodic variation and correlate poorly with human perception, leaving the problem of reliably quantifying prosody diversity underexplored. To bridge this gap, we introduce ProsodyEval, a prosody diversity assessment dataset that provides Prosody Mean Opinion Score (PMOS) alongside conventional acoustic metrics. ProsodyEval comprises 1000 speech samples derived from 7 mainstream TTS systems, with 2000 human ratings. Building on this, we propose the Discretized Speech Weighted Edit Distance (DS-WED), a new objective diversity metric that quantifies prosodic variation via weighted edit distance over semantic tokens. Experiments on ProsodyEval show that DS-WED achieves substantially higher correlation with human judgments than existing acoustic metrics, while remaining highly robust in speech tokenization from HuBERT and WavLM. Leveraging DS-WED, we benchmark state-of-the-art open-source TTS systems on LibriSpeech test-clean and Seed-TTS test-en, and further explorations uncover several factors that influence prosody diversity, including generative modeling paradigms, duration control, and reinforcement learning. Moreover, we find that current large audio language models (LALMs) remain limited in capturing prosodic variations. Audio samples are available at https://prosodyeval.github.io.

MiDashengLM-Gen: Unified Audio Scene Generation via LLM-Driven Autoregressive Flow Matching

Generating coherent audio scenes that simultaneously blend speech, music, and sound effects remains a significant challenge. Current approaches typically rely on a disjointed pipeline where a frozen, decoupled text encoder feeds a separate audio decoder, limiting cross-modal optimization and leading to poor speech intelligibility. To overcome these limitations, we introduce MiDashengLM-Gen, an end-to-end framework that couples a pre-trained Large Language Model (LLM) with per-token conditional flow matching for autoregressive, variable-length mixed-audio scene generation. MiDashengLM-Gen represents a first approach for general text-to-audio generation with one end-to-end trained model. Empirical evaluations demonstrate that MiDashengLM-Gen drastically improves speech intelligibility over existing unified models. On the Seed-TTS benchmark, English Word Error Rate (WER) drops from 12.15% to 2.79%, approaching the performance of dedicated Text-to-Speech (TTS) systems (1.24%). Furthermore, the framework extends effectively to multilingual settings, yielding highly competitive multilingual WERs compared to existing baselines. Lastly, the model maintains competitive mixed-audio generation quality on the MECAT benchmark. Code and checkpoints are available at https://github.com/xiaomi-research/midashenglm-gen and https://huggingface.co/mispeech/midashenglm-gen, and the demo page is available at https://xingws.github.io/midashenglm-gen-demo/.

Ming-UniAudio: Speech LLM for Joint Understanding, Generation and Editing with Unified Representation

Existing speech models suffer from competing requirements on token representations by understanding and generation tasks. This discrepancy in representation prevents speech language models from performing instruction-based free-form editing. To solve this challenge, we introduce a novel framework that unifies speech understanding, generation, and editing. The core of our unified model is a unified continuous speech tokenizer MingTok-Audio, the first continuous tokenizer to effectively integrate semantic and acoustic features, which makes it suitable for both understanding and generation tasks. Based on this unified continuous audio tokenizer, we developed the speech language model Ming-UniAudio, which achieved a balance between generation and understanding capabilities. Ming-UniAudio sets new state-of-the-art (SOTA) records on 8 out of 12 metrics on the ContextASR benchmark. Notably, for Chinese voice cloning, it achieves a highly competitive Seed-TTS-WER of 0.95. Leveraging this foundational model, we further trained a dedicated speech editing model Ming-UniAudio-Edit, the first speech language model that enables universal, free-form speech editing guided solely by natural language instructions, handling both semantic and acoustic modifications without timestamp condition. To rigorously assess the editing capability and establish a foundation for future research, we introduce Ming-Freeform-Audio-Edit, the first comprehensive benchmark tailored for instruction-based free-form speech editing, featuring diverse scenarios and evaluation dimensions spanning semantic correctness, acoustic quality, and instruction alignment. We open-sourced the continuous audio tokenizer, the unified foundational model, and the free-form instruction-based editing model to facilitate the development of unified audio understanding, generation, and manipulation.

LongCat-AudioDiT: High-Fidelity Diffusion Text-to-Speech in the Waveform Latent Space

We present LongCat-AudioDiT, a novel, non-autoregressive diffusion-based text-to-speech (TTS) model that achieves state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance. Unlike previous methods that rely on intermediate acoustic representations such as mel-spectrograms, the core innovation of LongCat-AudioDiT lies in operating directly within the waveform latent space. This approach effectively mitigates compounding errors and drastically simplifies the TTS pipeline, requiring only a waveform variational autoencoder (Wav-VAE) and a diffusion backbone. Furthermore, we introduce two critical improvements to the inference process: first, we identify and rectify a long-standing training-inference mismatch; second, we replace traditional classifier-free guidance with adaptive projection guidance to elevate generation quality. Experimental results demonstrate that, despite the absence of complex multi-stage training pipelines or high-quality human-annotated datasets, LongCat-AudioDiT achieves SOTA zero-shot voice cloning performance on the Seed benchmark while maintaining competitive intelligibility. Specifically, our largest variant, LongCat-AudioDiT-3.5B, outperforms the previous SOTA model (Seed-TTS), improving the speaker similarity (SIM) scores from 0.809 to 0.818 on Seed-ZH, and from 0.776 to 0.797 on Seed-Hard. Finally, through comprehensive ablation studies and systematic analysis, we validate the effectiveness of our proposed modules. Notably, we investigate the interplay between the Wav-VAE and the TTS backbone, revealing the counterintuitive finding that superior reconstruction fidelity in the Wav-VAE does not necessarily lead to better overall TTS performance. Code and model weights are released to foster further research within the speech community.
