# YLab

YLab is an interdisciplinary research group led by **Assistant Professor [Jie Yang](https://connects.catalyst.harvard.edu/Profiles/display/Person/176151), FAMIA** at **Harvard Medical School**.  
Dr. Yang is a lead investigator at **Brigham and Women’s Hospital**, affiliated faculty at the **Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard**, **Harvard Data Science Initiative**, and the **Kempner Institute of Harvard University**.

Our research focuses on **AI in healthcare and clinical natural language processing**. Specifically, we are interested in:

- Clinical natural language processing and large language models in healthcare  
- Disease early detection, diagnosis, and treatment prediction using electronic health records and other clinical data sources  
- Efficient feature extraction from electronic health records and insurance claims  
- Data analysis on healthcare-related data (e.g., telemedicine, social media)  
- Open-sourced tools and open-access datasets that accelerate progress in the above areas
