YLab

YLab is an interdisciplinary research group led by Assistant Professor Jie Yang, FAMIA at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Yang is a lead investigator at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, affiliated faculty at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, Harvard Data Science Initiative, and the Kempner Institute of Harvard University.

Our research focuses on AI in healthcare and clinical natural language processing. Specifically, we are interested in:

  • Clinical natural language processing and large language models in healthcare
  • Disease early detection, diagnosis, and treatment prediction using electronic health records and other clinical data sources
  • Efficient feature extraction from electronic health records and insurance claims
  • Data analysis on healthcare-related data (e.g., telemedicine, social media)
  • Open-sourced tools and open-access datasets that accelerate progress in the above areas
